Card Expert ("we," "our," or "the app") is a mobile application that helps collectors identify trading cards, check estimated market value, and chat with a Card Expert. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
• Photos you upload: When you use Card Value Scanner, you may take a photo or choose one from your library. These images are processed to identify the card and estimate its value.
• Chat messages: If you use Chat with Card Expert, your messages and conversation history may be stored on your device and sent to our servers to keep context and generate replies.
• Collection information: If you add cards to a collection, we may store card details and estimated values associated with your account.
• Purchase information: If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment. We may receive a record of your subscription status. We do not receive your full payment card number.
• Technical data: We may receive information such as device type and app usage to help us fix issues and improve the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide Card Value Scanner, chat, and collection features
• Process images and text through secure third-party AI services that power these features
• Store data on secure servers (Supabase) as needed to deliver the service
• Confirm subscription status
• Respond to your support requests when you contact us

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following types of third parties:

• Supabase: Hosting, storage, authentication, and backend functions. Your account data, photos, and related information may be stored and processed by Supabase in accordance with their privacy practices.
• AI providers: To analyze card photos and chat messages. Data sent to these providers is used to generate responses and is subject to their privacy policies.
• Apple: In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Apple's terms and privacy policy apply to those payments.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Camera and Photos

Card Expert requests access to your camera and photo library only so you can scan cards. We do not access your camera or photos except when you choose to take or select an image in the app.

5. Data Retention

We retain account data, uploaded photos, and related information only as long as needed to provide the service and to comply with legal obligations. Chat conversations stored on your device remain there until you delete them or delete your account.

6. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data, depending on your location. You can delete your account in Settings. That permanently deletes your account and related data we control, and cannot be undone. Subscriptions purchased through Apple are managed in your Apple ID settings. 7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Use the app only with information you are comfortable sharing for the purposes described here.

8. Children

Card Expert is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
