Welcome to Betta Expert. By downloading, installing, or using the Betta Expert app ("the app," "we," "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Description of the Service

Betta Expert is a mobile application that provides:

• Information and tools for freshwater betta fish keepers
• Betta Health Diagnosis: photo-based insights and general wellness information (not a substitute for veterinary care)
• SOS Emergency (Betta SOS): guided intake for urgent situations, with informational output (not a substitute for emergency veterinary care)
• Compatibility Tracker: guidance to help you assess tank-mate and setup compatibility for your betta
• Ask Betta Expert: conversational assistance about betta care, water quality, and related topics
• Care checklists and routines to support consistent husbandry
• Optional paid subscriptions or in-app purchases, where offered through the app stores

Features may use artificial intelligence (AI) to generate responses. AI outputs are for informational purposes only and may not be accurate or complete.

2. Not Professional Advice

The app does not provide veterinary, legal, or financial advice. Health-related content, emergency guidance, compatibility information, and any estimates are for general information only. Always consult a qualified aquatic veterinarian or specialist when appropriate, and consult qualified professionals for legal or financial decisions. We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on the app's content or AI-generated output.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe the rights of others or upload content you do not have the right to use
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or third-party services
• Use the app to harass, abuse, or harm others or to distribute harmful or offensive content

We may suspend or terminate your access if we believe you have violated these terms.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the photos and other content you upload. By using the app, you grant us the rights necessary to process, store, and transmit that content to provide the service (for example to run health diagnosis, SOS Emergency, compatibility, chat, or related features and to use third-party AI and hosting services as described in our Privacy Policy).

5. Subscriptions and Payments

If you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, billing is handled by Apple or Google (as applicable) under their terms. Pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are subject to the app store's policies. We do not store your full payment card details.

6. Disclaimers

THE APP AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED. HEALTH INSIGHTS, EMERGENCY GUIDANCE, COMPATIBILITY INFORMATION, AND OTHER OUTPUT ARE INFORMATIONAL ONLY AND MAY BE INACCURATE. USE THE APP AT YOUR OWN RISK.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BETTA EXPERT AND ITS CREATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED OUTPUT.

8. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may change the app's features or these Terms at any time. We will post updated Terms at this URL and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.

9. General

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app operator is based. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
